Clicking sound in my back
9/23 17:38:47

Question
I am 11 weeks pregnant.  A couple of weeks ago my md told me that I have sciatica in my back.  That pain is manageable.  Well a couple of days ago I noticed a clicking sound coming from my back when I walk.  Its not really painful but a little unnerving. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this and if I should be concerned?  I don't see my md for another couple of weeks.

Answer
Obviously, your body is undergoing changes as a result of your pregnancy.  This is particularly true with first pregnancies.  The sciatica is fairly common from pressure against the nerve as the body stretches and grows.  The clicking sound in your back is most likely a similar adaptation.  If there is no major pain related to the sound, I don't think that it will be something to worry about.  I would still recommend that you mention it to your doctor at your next visit.

Thank you for your question, Dawn.  I hope that my answer was helpful.
