Question
I had an MRI done on my back and I don't understand most of my report.
Please explain to me:

There is mild central posterior disc protrusion at L4-5 level causing pressure on
ventral surface of thecal sac. WHAT IT MEANS? Could it be considered Focal nerve root compression? OR it is something else?
Looking forward to your expertise?br>                                                                     Thanks a lot,

Thanks for writing!

The "Thecal sac" is the covering over the spinal cord. This means that the back part of the cushion between your back bones is pushing backward and touching the front of your spinal cord. The spinal cord is just behind the cushion.

This could cause pain and numbness and weakness of the legs or it could be causing no symtoms. I suggest you go to www.sorsis.com or www.icak.com and look for a good chiropractor near you, trained in treating the spinal cord. They can check this out and do things which will help you.
