Question
Hello I am 28 years old.  I always had neck and back and head aches.  Lately my aches has gotten worse. I have a dull aches in the back of my head. I am experiencing pain down my back, in the beck of my neck and up the back of my skull. This pain usually spreads from the back to my temples, forehand and I feel a pressure on the back of my eyes. Those aches vary from mild to migraine headaches. They also vary from dull to throbbing to sharp pain. My doctor suggested MRI of the brain and some blood test. I would like to have MRI of my neck too. Is that possible to see both things (brain and neck) in one picture? And also is it possible to experience all those symptoms without something being seriously wrong (tumor)? Can all those pains come from the sine?
Thank you so much for your answer.
Michaela

Answer
Michaela,

To be to the point, you don't need an MRI at this point.  Your symptoms fit the description of tension headaches emanating from muscular contractions in the neck and base of the cranium.

I expect sessions of clinical somatic education (Hanna somatic education) to produce rapid improvement for you.

Find a practitioner at

See my article on headaches at

If no practitioner exists nearby, I can make a recommendation for a self-help program, if you wish.  Self-help programs use methods based on the same principles as clinical sessions, but different, slower-acting techniques.

Hanna somatic education works so quickly that if you don't get substantial improvement in two sessions, it's probably not neuromuscular tension headaches and you'll have lost maybe 2-3 weeks.  You can still get the MRI scan.
