Lower Back Pain due to snowboarding Injury.

Question
I'm 24/Male 5'10 195lbs and an intermediate snowboarder. About a week and a half ago I suffered a pretty big fall whilst snowboarding. I fell backwards onto the ice whilst traveling at speed and landed squarely on my lower back. immediately after the injury I had excruciating pain from my lower back just above my tailbone. Over the next few days the pain subsided after I applied muscle strain relief ointments such as Bengay and Icyhot. And a few times a day I'd apply a heat pad. Now the pain has for the most part subsided but I have a lot of stiffness in my lower back, it feels like I'm really stretching my muscles whilst trying to bend over and there is now a small hard bump on the my lower back where the injury occurred. Would you know what's causing the bump? It causes some discomfort whilst sitting and sleeping. Anything I can do to get rid of the stiffness in my back?

Thank You.

Answer
I would seek out a Chiropractor in your area and see if you bruised your sacrum. It also sounds like you may have a misalignment in your spine or pelvis.
The pain will eventually subside but why would you not correct a possible pelvic misalignment?
Seeing a chiropractor will get you snowboarding pain free in no time.
