Bulged disc in my neck

Question
I am 23 and I have been diagnosed with a  bulged disc in my neck 9 months ago. Since that time I have quit cycling and going to the gym. I have done some physical therapy sessions. Thankfully, it relieved some of the pain.

My question is: Can I get back to cycling or lifting heavy weights with the condition in my neck ?

Thanks.

Answer
Jeff,

You should come to understand how you formed the bulging disc.  That will answer your question.

Muscle tension in the neck leads to bulging discs through compression of vertebrae.

That may be the result of your weight training or of an accident.

May I direct you to my article on whiplash injuries, which discusses the condition, at somatics.com/whiplash.htm.
