Question
What does it mean to have a Disc Herniation? According to my MRI results I have two, can it be cured? Would I ever be able to go back to the gym and keep up with my three toddlers.
                             Thanks.

Answer
There are many different terms to describe a herniated disc, such as a pinched nerve, bulging disc, ruptured disc or slipped disc. These terms tend to be used somewhat differently among health professionals because there are no generally agreed upon definitions for many disc problems.

Because every injury is unique to that individual, it is difficult to say with certainty about chances of recovery.

I would recommend asking your physician about possible physical therapy to strengthen the area involved.  I would also suggest slow stretching exercises such as yoga to help relieve any muscle tension in the area as well.  Muscle tension can actually add to the pain cycle.

Thank you for your question, Yemi.  I hope that my answer was helpful.
