C-3 -C-7 ARE FUSED;i GOT A BILAT-CERVICAL MBBB-BECAUSE FOR THE 1ST TIME IN OVER 10 YRS. i HAVE HAD NECK ACHES ON THE LEFT SIDE OF MY NECK, FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS I HAVE HAD SEVERE PAIN, IN BOTH THUMBS, i WAS A PRO GUITARIST FOR 35 YEARS & TO SAY THE LEAST I HAVEN'T BEEN IN #8OR9-PAIN & MY VOICE WENT DOWN 3  HALF STEPS, IS THERE ANY SUGGESTIONS, i'M A 62 YR. OLD MALE-I SURE MISS PLAYING BUT THE PAIN IS JUST TO MUCH i'VE BEEN TAKING dILAUDID 4MG 4QID. i'VE TRIED EVERYTHING FROM OXY-EVERYTHING, I WOULD BE UP THE CREEK WITHOUT MY DILAUDID-I HAVE NEVER TAKEN TOO MANY OR TO FEW, MY DRIVING & EVERYTHING ELSE SEEMS TO BE OK. Hi, Mack,

You're describing symptoms consistent with contracted neck muscles and nerve root compression.

No drug can correct that.  It's the conditioning of your nervous system that maintains the condition.

It can be retrained, however, whereupon you almost certainly wouldn't need drugs for pain.
