c-spine laser surgery

Question
Has anyone had c-spine laser surgery.  I have compression one the nerves coming from c-5 & c-6.  Had this problem for three years.  Have had therapy twice, has not helped.  Also, have degeneration of c-spine.  Heard horror stories about c-spine fusion.  Considering laser surgery.  Also, have bone spurs.  All this causing stabbing pains, burning, and itching in both arms.  Thanks,  Linda

Answer
Linda,
Of all the patients that I have seen in the last 10 years, I have not had anyone who has had this laser surgery.  When I was doing my residency for physical therapy, the military was doing laser surgeries to help with shoulder instability problems.  They were starting to do them also on the spine.  So if this is the same, they use the laser to "shrink" the herniated disc instead of removing the disc entirely.  Sorry that I could not be of more help.

Martin
