pinched nerve in neck

Question
I have a pinched nerve in my neck that burns all the time. The pain runs down my neck into my shoulder blade and gets really sharp if I sit in the same position for very long. I can go to the chiropractor and have my neck popped and it eases for a while but never fully goes away. Is there any permanent solution to fix this or am I stuck with it forever?

Hi, Eric,

I know the sensation.

There is a permanent solution:  retrain your control of the muscles in your neck that cause the nerve pinch, so they relax.  Without a change of the resting state of tension, any manipulation from outside is only temporary and gets counteracted by your muscular conditioning.

The article, below, explains one approach that works (though it explains in terms of low back pain).
