Question
QUESTION: on 5-14-07 I developed sudden severe lower back pain. In the previous week
I had been ill with fever, severe diareaha, & vomiting. The pain is at the base
of the spine- at times debilitating & beats.(pulsates)
I have seen a physician- xray ok- blood tests ok

At times I can hardly walk

ANSWER: It is very difficult to explain in this format, it is easier in person, but there could be some cranial/sacral issues going on.  I am a chiropractor that specializes in cranial issues as well as the rest of the body, and what you are explaining to me could be due to some cranial "lock-up", or lack of motion within the cranium, and since your blood work has come back alright, this might be an avenue to pursue.  Like I said it is easier to explain in person.  I am a member of a group of chiropractors that treat similar issues daily.  If you are interested, go to www.sorsi.com to locate a doctor near you.  I am in St. Paul, Minnesota and would be happy to see you.  If you have any other questions or concerns, please email me.

QUESTION:  i have done a little homework since I received your reply. The nearest Sorsi
Dr. is Phoenix Az his name is Barry Goldberg.

I live in Tucson Az. I detect a little urgency on your part- my main problem is
loyalty- to my physician & to m "wellness chiropractor-Dr. Matthew Robbins

I see 5 choices

1. wait til Mon- contact my Dr. & see the next step she recommends

2. See my regular chiropractor (not Sorsi) on Mon

3. travel to Mn & see u -(not a financial Hardship)

4. Try to contact Dr. Goldberg in Phoenix

5. go to the emergency room

I would appreciate your recommendation or other alternatives that u see.

I am using a cane but the pain is very severe & i am the next thing to
disabled-I reside alone

Answer
If the pain is that severe, I suggest the emergency room.  As for the other suggestions, I would ask your current chiropractor about cranio-sacral therapy or SOT.  I don't know what kind of technique your chiropractor uses, but it will take more than just laying on a table and getting some bones in your back "cracked".  I am unsure what kind of drive it is from Tucson to Phoenix is, but it may be worth it.  I looked at the SORSI website and Dr. Goldberg is cranial certified, which means he would be a great help, plus he has a lot of experience.  Good Luck and keep me posted.
