Question
Hi. I'm a 14 year old boy. I often crack my knuckles, back, neck, etc. I just like to know if in the future, is there a chance that I might get a disease to the bones such as osteoarthritis as a result of the cracking of joints? I see everyone crack body parts, but I'm not sure if it wears out the cartilage.
Thanks.

Answer
Dear Ahmed,   It is very possible that cracking of knuckles, back, neck, wrists etc CAN cause these joints to become deformed and can cause the cartiledge to wear out earlier thus causing osteoarthritis....  It will also cause joint deformatity as you get older....

Chiropractors are trained to do these procedures to reduce the damage to cartiledge and discs....

Thank you,   karen
