Question
Hello
My question is in regards to the new "breakthrough" treatment of Cetyl Myristoleate. My brother suffers from Reumatoid Arthritis and also has liver disease, (hepatitis C), because of this, he is limited on the medication he is able to take since most medications filter through the liver. Could he be a candidate for this new medication or not? Unfortunately, he is abusing Motrin as his only source of relief and it is causing him severe bleeding. Please help.
Thank you in advance,
Melissa Privett

Answer
Melissa,

I am sorry to hear of your brothers suffering.

Cetyl Myristoleate is a fatty acid complex similar to fish in that both are omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. It is safe to take with hepatitis C but there is debate among the doctors who work with CM as to the effectiveness of CM under these conditions. There is a on our site that takes you to a page that has all the medical research on it as well as the major articles about is. I will leave the link below. Since there is questions about its effectiveness, if your brother reads the information and would like to try it contact me at the address below and I will send him a bottle to see if it will help.
