Question
Hi Patt,

I'm a 44 year old male in good health and have been active in sports, outdoor hobbies, etc. Some time ago I noticed I was not able to kneel on my left knee because it hurt so bad. It hurts just touching the knee.
I am relatively new to the area and do not have a family doctor yet. I am tired of being in pain, and since I'm an active person, I need to know what may cause the pain. I haven't done anything to it(no trauma) that I can remember.
Should I go to the emergency room to have x-rays done?
I'm all ears.
Thanks,
Dave

Answer
HI DAVE
AT YOUR AGE IT CAN BE ARTHRITIS OR OSTEOPORSIS SETTING INTO THE KNEE BONE ON BONE.  HAVE IT XRAYED OR AN MRI RUN ON IT ASAP.
DO NOT RUN NOR DO ANYMORE UNTIL U FIND OUT THE SOURSE OF PAIN TO WORSEN OR CRIPPLE YOURSELF FOR LIFE.  KNEES CAN BE REPLACED AND FIND OUT THE REASON FOR PAIN THEN GO FROM THERE, OTHERWISE NO FURTHER EXERCIE OF ANY KIND UNTIL A DOCTER OKS IT.

WARM REGARDS
PATT
