Question
I have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the spine and often in chronic pain. I am on painkillers, but looking for alternative treatment for the future. I am concerned with my work rights as i sometimes have to take day/s off if in severe pain. Is this illness covered by DDA or can i claim for anything to provide me financial help for alternative therapy  aid etc.

Thank You.

Answer
Dear Angela,   I can't tell you if this illness is covered by DDA, this is something you will have to check out with your agency that has this coverage for you....  Same goes for help with alternative therapy aid.....  However, I don't know of any alternative therapy for osteoarthritis....

You may want to talk to your doctor about trying to get on Social Security Disability if your osteoarthritis is keeping you from working at your required job activities....

thank you,   karen
