Teen Hip Replacements

Question
I have a 16 yr. old son that had a slipped capital femoral epiphysis at age 13 that developed into avascular necrosis.  He also developed Chondylosis and now the hip is completely fused. We live in Green Bay Wisconsin and many of the physicians we have gone to said that his condition is out of their scope of expertise.  We found a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon in New York City and are very happy with him, but now he needs a hip replacement. This physician doesn抰 do hip replacements.  Do you have any recommendations on how to find the Best physician with experience with Chondylis and necrosis.  Who could also perform a hip replacement?  What questions should we ask to make sure they are well experienced?  Thank you very much.  Also can you please put me in touch with that other person who had emailed you regarding their 16 year old son and his simular problem. Thanks again

Answer
The two doctors I have in mind are out of your area.

The first one works out of the hospital of Special  Surgery in NYC, and his name is Douglas Padgett

The second one works out of Alexandria VA, his name is Dr. Charles Engh.  He works out of Mount Vernon Hospital.

Unfortunately I cannot put you in touch with other patients as I don't know of any your son's age.
