Question
Hi,
We discovered a question that was asked of you on 11/16/2007.  The 16 year old boy from Green Bay,WI needed help for his Chondylosis&Necrosis. Our 16 year old grandson is in the same shape.  We are in desperate need of help and wonder if there is a way to contact the family.
Our grandson was hurt 18 months ago, lost the blood supply to his hip. His tibia with blood supply was transplanted into the hip, he did not walk for 15 months.  He has been in rehab, learned to walk again but still using 1 crutch. As of 11/27/08 the ball of the hip has collapsed, he is bone on bone, and back on 2 crutches because of pain. We are looking for options as his surgeon is also looking for options.
Can you help us?

Judy

Answer
Judy,   I do not have the contact information for the family in question. Right now I do not have other options myself and will admit this is not my area of expertise regarding the fact the surgeon is looking as well.
The surgeon must have other options available or know how to proceed if the femoral ball has collapsed. its obvious that your grandson cannot exist like this long.

I am sorry that I do not more information for you. I would however start looking into other surgeons and orthopedist in your area if your surgeon does not get back with you promptly.

Good Luck
Richard Haynes
