Question
I dont have insurance and my knee pain is getting bad. I have never had a knee injury just the pain from sports and old age over the years. I heard about cortisone injections and believe it would help till my insurance starts on my new job. Where can i go in the Detroit area to get a cheap office visit and cortisone injections. Thank You.

Answer
Hi Angie,

I am unable to help you in regards to where you can get a cheap visit in your area. You will have to look further on the net to research that or make a few calls.

I would however have the knee checked out by an orthopedic doctor before you decide to get the injection. Are you sure what you are dealing with in the knee? Regarding what is causing the pain?

Most places will not issue cortisone shots like walk in clinics etc...you have to get to a doctor for the exam first.

If the ortho feels that a cortisone shot will help then they are the ones I would get it from do not take a chance getting it done off the street for a cheap price.

If the knee gets infected you will have bigger problems then to deal with.

have it checked by a ortho doc in your area. Make some calls explain to them your situation they may work with you due to the fact your ins. coverage will be kicking in soon.

I wish you well. Let me know if I can be of any further help.
