Question
Hello Dr. Tsatso,

I injured my right knee playing soccer over a month ago. I've seen two orthopedists of which one said I tore my ACL and need surgery and the other said it was a knee sprain and the ACL is intact. There is still a little bit of swelling but no pain. I did not hear a pop during the injury and I can run and cut side to side. Having said that the leg doesn't feel right and I'm not sure if it's due to the possible ACL tear or simply because the knee needs time heal from the sprain. I can e-mail MRI images if you'd like to take a look.

Answer
Dear Mike,

This Chicago Podiatrist, Elmhurst Podiatrist & West Loop Podiatrist says.......
Need a third opinion.
Go see an orthopedist who specializes in knees.
If the ACL is torn and you plan to play sports aggressively-then consider fixing.
There is no hurry to fix a torn ACL. Try a good knee brace first-and of appears stable-can live without the surgery, plus partial tears sometimes repair themselves.
State law prohibits me from practicing medicine in email format-plus I don't have a Rhode Island license.
Good Luck!
