Question
Okay i am i 18 year old and for the last couple days my leg has been feeling very wired. It actually feels as if my leg is under anesthesia. I noticed it when I was shaving my left leg and realize I could not feel from my knee down. But it just just past of my lower left leg so it freaked me out. I am a cross country runner and I march in a marching band and my couches think it might just be a pinched nerve. This is my senor year and i just don't want it to be something bad so i can use all the help i can get.

The doctor i did go to just said come bad again in a couple days if is still numb because he didn't have a clue what it could be
..HELP!! and thank you.

also it dose not bother me to run or walk or anything really it just feels wired when i touch it.

Answer
Hi Jazmin,

Okay.  Here are your choices:    Wait and see, and it might just resolve on its own.    It's only been a few days.   If it doesn't resolve, then your next choice is to see a chiropractor or neurologist for examination to see if you have a pinched nerve or similar issue.   If you see the chiropractor, they would be the best suited to see if you have mechanical lower back problem or a muscle knot that is causing your altered skin sensation.    If you continue to have these symptoms, and it does not change with time or manual treatment (e.g. chiropractic joint manipulation and soft tissue massage/release) or if it seems to be getting worse, then you should have a blood test that to check for Lymes ds, or an MRI of the lumbar spine to see if you have a small disc protrusion.     The most likely scenario is that you have a small disc protrusion or a deep muscular knot, and you will find resolve with some time or with some manual treatment.

'Hope this was helpful,

Dr. G
