Question
Hello,

What's the difference between an osteopath and a chiropractor?

Thanks, Rob

Answer
Rob,

Thanks for the question.  An osteopath is basically a medical doctor.  The osteopath uses the same methods of treatment as the MD by prescribing drugs, performing surgery if trained to do so and that sort of route.  A chiropractor does not prescribe drugs and uses manual treatments such as chiropractic manipulation, therapy, rehab, exercise, nutrition.

Osteopaths used to use a lot of manipulation in their practice, but I am not aware of too many that use it at all anymore.

I hope this helps.
