Question
i have been having chest pain that starts on right side above breast and then move across my chest could you tell me what this could be coming from ,it does not fill like pressure it fells like a sharp pain

Answer
Dear Shannon,

The short answer is "NO", I can't tell you what the cause of your chest pain is... and I hope that you realize that it is for many reasons.

First of all, the entire "medical history" available to me can be found in the single sentence provided. There is no indication of anything else, including but not limited to age, sex, past health history, height, weight, physical activity, past history of similar symptoms, past history of illnesses, family history of illnesses, lab results, EKG results, imaging results....etc

As you can see, the comlexity of variables initiated by a single, simple question.

My advise to you is this:  1) Start with the potential of most serious disease, and rule it out. It this case, see your medical doctor to make sure that you are not suffering from any form of heart disease or infectious lung disease, pneumonia, asthma, thyroid disorder, esophogeal erosion, gastric pathology, liver disorder, neoplasm, etc etc.  These can be life threatening if ignored.  2) If there is no obvious serious medical condition, consider the posibility of your pain being structurally induced.  This type of problem, although anoying and painful, is typically not life-threatening, and can possibly be helped through physical therapy or chiropractic care.

I hope that this gives you at least a place to start. MAKE THE FIRST VISIT, WITH ANY CHEST PAIN, TO YOUR MEDICAL DOCTOR for the benefit of ruling out life-threatening issues.  Don't try and guess or second guess what you think the problem is based on what your pre-conceived notions of symptoms should be.

sincerely,
