Question
Thanks Dr. Katz.

I actually had it taken care of before I got yout reply back. I couldn't take the discomfort any more. I went back Last Friday and I discussed the options with the OS. I ditched the boot and I am the owner of a new fibergalss cast. The relife was almost instant. I have to go back to see him in another 4 weeks and he said he will take another battery of x-rays and then He may fit me with the boot gain. Hopefully it's far enough along that it doesn't bother it. I don't know how people live with those things. it was pure torture! It hurt more than when i fractured the bone in the first place.

Answer
Hi Don,

Glad you had the cast put on and you are doing better.  When you have a foot fracture and a cast, it is always a good idea to have physical therapy after the fracture is healed.  This will strengthen the muscles and allow better motion of the foot and ankle.

Good Luck.

Sincerely,
