Question
I hurt my foot playing tennis, sounded like a pop it just bothered me very little so i kept playing but it always bothered me over time
About a year ago I bought orthotics and it helped my problem over the arch area, but it never seems to go away completely. I was playing tennis and walking during that time but I stopped doing all that and it improved however  whenever i mow the lawn my foot gets irritated and bothers me for days  other times when mowing hardly bothers me at all.  Is it possible that i have a torn fascia? how
would i know? I don' t have any real pain just irritation when walking for a bit. I have not seen a doctor because I don't have insurance. Click on the link to see a drawing where my problem is it should help you get an idea to what it is.

Answer
Hi Rocco,

Based on your symptoms and pictures, you likely have either a strained fascia or tendon.  In addition, you may have injured the nerve that comes into the foot.
You would likely need an ultrasound or MRI to make a definite diagnosis.

You should see a podiatrist if the pain does not resolve.  At the very least an x-ray could be helpful if there is a bone problem.

You may require immobilization.  If there is nerve damage some people will undergo cryosurgery or CryoMax for pain relief.
