Question
I was diagnosed with sinus tarsi syndrome 6 months ago.  I went through the process of 1 cortisone and 7 alcohol injections into the joint which helped some.  Now the pain is back and I am getting more injections, however the pain is now radiating to my toes and often feels as if someone is stabbing me on the top of my foot (outer midfoot area).  I have brought it to my Dr attention, but was assured that it was just the pain radiating from the inflamed joint down to my toes.  Are there any other questions I can ask my dr about this or should I go get a second opinion?

Answer
Dear AJ,
This Chicago Podiatrist, Elmhurst Podiatrist & West Loop Podiatrist says.......
For your  are sinus tarsi syndrome.....
The nerves in that area are not known to produce pain in the areas you describe.
That said-arthritis or injury in that area may produce the symptoms you describe, or additional nerves may be involved.Possibly seek a second opinion.
Good Luck!
