Question
my husband and i have been married and together for 14 yrs. he is a T-12 incomplete for 29 yrs this may. weve always been able to have sex, he can get an erection but not from visual arousal. however something is going on and neither of us knows why.  all of a sudden he has been getting very hard erections just from thinking about sex  or touching me or talking about it.  every single day off and on for over 3 weeks. im excited but curious. i have never heard of this before since he got his return so many years ago.  he recently had a 2 inch bladder stone removed. he got the erections 2 weeks ago and even after the stone is still getting the erections. he is not on any medication at all.  have you ever heard of this? we are both excited but cant explain this at all. nothing has changed. i would love to know what is/had been going on?

Answer
Dear Lori,

I am guessing your husband is getting more return. I have been an incomplete C4-C5 quadriplegic for 36 years and a few years ago I began noticing feelings I had lost when I was injured. I truly believe it is possible for spinal cord injured persons to get some return after many years if their injury was incomplete. I hope that is true for you two.

Best Wishes,
         Ken
