Question
my niece's friend broke her c 6 over july 4th weekend; diving into a pool.  we're all worried about her and would like to know your opinion.  will she end up a quad?  Thank you Ken for all you do to help others.  You're a real champion !

    First I am sorry your nieces' friend has to go through this, it is never an easy thing to deal with. And whether she is a quadriplegic depends on how much damage she has sustained to her spinal cord. Is she considered a complete or incomplete injury? If she is an incomplete, she has the possibility of regaining some function if she has lost any. The good thing if you can say that about C6 level injuries is she most likely will be able to drive, but I really don't know enough about her injury to know if she has even suffered any spinal cord damage.
