Question
Hello Lawrence,

What exactly is a diffuse posterior disc spur complex?

I can't seem to find what those exact words means for L4-5 and L5-S1 of my lumbar spine. What are the different definitions used for disc spur? Is it the same as the common term disc bulge?

"mild compression upon the ventral aspect of the right S1 root"

Is that considered as a "mild pinch" of the right S1 root? Could anything be done to get the numbing to get better, or possibly go away completely? I get numbing that shoots all the way down from my lower back to bottom of both my feet.

I read how radiologist don't like words in their MRI report being changed around, but I'm just simply dealing with a bit of difficulty getting answers.

Thank You,

Hello, Lewiston,

Bone spurs form along the lines of pull of chronically tight muscles, at their attachments.

Discs bulge when tight spinal muscles pull vertebrae together.

Yes, it's a "pinch" of the nerve root.

Your condition suggests both tight back muscles and tight hamstrings.
