Question
Not sure if this is the right forum or not but ...

I pretty much have constant, continual (suppose that is called acute) back and chest pain. I've had lots of tests, EKG for heart, stress test. Back was looked at, X-rayed and an MRI. Nothing earth shattering, heart is ok, back has some degenerative but I get back pain that seems to come through to the front and experience chest pains. (neck pain as well). This is not something that is recent, this has been going on for years, literally years. Sort of comes and goes but it's pretty persistent. Any thoughts on the matter?

I also get shoulder pain, especially when I lift my arm straight up so I would guess this is more of a nerve or muscle issue. Just not sure why the pain goes into the chest.

Answer
Bill,
you didn't tell me your age or past history, but my thoughts are if the heart is ok, then perhaps you need some attention to the musculoskeletal system. I would suggest an xray in the areas that hurt. Chiropractors are perfect for this type of complaint when MDs cannot seem to help. I don't usually suggest chiropractors, but sounds like a  consultation with a good one might help. They can perform ultrasound treatments, massage, even acupuncture (without needles) nowadays. These treatments have helped many people where regular medicine caannot. That is where I would go if I were you.
