Question
I have been seeing a chiropractor for about 2 weeks. the first week i was seen every day. this week every other. I was told that my spine was totally twisted and that I had no curveture in my neck or back I also had a small tear in my hip area.I have seen some improvement in my pain (we are also doing electromatic treament) what does twisted mean and how long should I give the chiropractor before I seek help elsewhere? He said I was the worst case he'd seen in a while all of my muscles are inflammed and and feel stretched to the breakin point.I no longer sleep in the bed because I cant stand the pain in my lower back when I try to get up.

Answer
Hi rose,

Sounds like a tough spell you are going through.  As you can imagine, one can only advise so much online.  Without direct examination, full history and so on.

Usually, I expect significant progress within two weeks.  That is measured in three ways:  what you feel, what the doctor finds during treatment and examination findings.

At the two week point we may decide to continue on the program, change the program or get a third opinion from another discipline (ie MRI, orthopedist, etc.).  Now we will probably continue treatment while the evaluations are progressing.

Hope this helps.

God bless, Dr Pendergraft
