Question
I have a familial spasticity disorder with my muscles. Doing some hard core dancing (sad) I thought I pulled a muscle in my lower shoulder..about where the bottom of the scapula is on a bone diagram...shortly after I began to cough like there is something stuck in my lungs. Not cough a lot, but about 2 times every hour. That and breathing now are hurting and it feels like the pain has migrated to the front of my chest if I breathe deeply enough. What is wrong? Could a chiropractor help me? P.S. The only doctor I easily have access to at the moment is a chiropractor, so even if he can only help a little, at least that's something!

Answer
Dear jess,

I don't know what is wrong with you. Without doing a good examination, it is impossible to know.  You should go and see the chiropractor that you speak of so that you can be examined. If this is simply a rib fixation/subluxation, he/she can help you.  If you fractured a rib, only time will help you.  Pain with coughing can be many different things, some very serious, and others not-so-much.  Again, a good examination and diagnosis is in order.

I hope that this helps you out Jess.
