QUESTION: I'm female. Its mostly when I'm laying down. I get soooo dizzy when I get up. I have epilepsy but I've had it since I was 10. I've been taking my meds every day and I haven't had a seizure since 2007. I don't smoke or drink. Its only bad in the afternoon.I've been drinking more water now. I'm always working or in class. Sometimes I don't have time to eat but I've always been that way, even before these symptoms. I slowed down on junkfood. I don't drink a lot of pop.  My eyes started hurting yesterday. I've been having headaches for the past few days too. I did haveva temporary earache yesterday.I know my parents have high blood pressure. Im 26 and 230lbs. No injuries, no trauma, no airplanes.I haven't been sick at all this winter. My family sad it could be diabetes but I don't have the symptoms with it. Do I see a regular doctor? Its been happening for only the past few days. I only have a neurologist. That's all.

ANSWER: What did the doctor and the neurologist say. When is the last time you had your blood sugar checked? Have you been checked for hyper/hypothyroidism? Has anyone looked in the ear that you have an earache in. What is your blood pressure. Does your neck hurt. Do you notice any changes in your eyebrows are they thick and full or are they thin or thinning. Do you suffer any more than ordinary hair loss.Have you been having regular menstrual periods and cycles.

QUESTION: My periods have always been irregular. Last 3-5 days. I don't have a regular doctor. My neurologist just talks about medicine and does exams. Like walking straight, arms out, etc. I have not had a blood pressure test or checkups in years. I don't have health insurance. I go to a hospital that I have to wait hours to see a doctor. If I see a regular doctor there, I have to wait all day because its free. My last neurologist appt was in December. Medicine always caused hair loss. Eyebrows are fine. Can lack of sleep cause this?

Answer
Hello,
Lack of sleep could certainly add to or make the problem worse but I don't think it is the real underlying reason you are having dizzy spells. With that said you are either experiencing sugar handling problem(s) and/or have suspected hormonal imbalances. This is a situation where you need a hands on physical examination. I highly suggest you go to healthcare professional who practices functional medicine/nutrition. I suspect sugar handling issues and either thyroid and/ or female hormonal imbalances. You would need to have certain blood work done to rule in or rule out any of the above I have mentioned.

I need you to understand I am not diagnosing you with any of the above but trying to give you information so that you can be seen by a healthcare provider in your area. Your symptomatic picture goes way above and beyond what this forum can provide.

I wish there were more that I could say to help you but you really need to see a healthcare professional in your area.

Also as much as I disagree with Obamacare it is my opinion that it is set up for people in your situation and at least you could apply and get some coverage so you could see the appropriate medical healthcare provider.
I will be happy
