Question
hi, I was injured in the military (thrown from the turret of a humvee) I am out of the military now but not getting much help from the military dr's. They say my disks are bulging, how serious is that? I can not walk at times when my back is aggrivated, it hurts constantly, and my feet get numb when I lie down. Just looking for some answers if you have time I can email you the files from my MRI, thank you for your time.

Answer
Chiropractic helps with relieving the symptoms of disc bulges.  My office treats many cases similar to yours.  The disc may not be the problem, with the bulging of the disc comes misalignment of the vertebrae which in turn can cause muscle spasms which can irritate nerves and give you the symptoms you are experiencing.  I'm not saying this is what you have going on, without a proper exam I am just giving you examples.  If you would like to email me your MRI report, I would be happy to look it over.  My strongest suggestion would to take your MRI to a chiropractor, in person, and discuss what they can do for you.  If you are interested, go to www.sorsi.com to locate a chiropractor near you.  I am a member of this organization and I believe any one of them will be able to help you, we use a very gentle technique to treat such problems.  I am in St. Paul, Minnesota and would be more than happy to see you.  If you have any other questions or concerns, please email me.
