Question
my friend was in a car accident 6 years ago and  his c5 disc in his neck was damaged and is pushing on the nerve in his neck, since then has been in chronic pain and had terrible headaches. doctors have prescibed medicine after medicine which turns him in to a walking zombie!
Doctors state now all they can do is operate to shave the disc but this involves cutting into his throat in order to reach his disc without causing damage to the nerve, this will mean he would be recovering for up to a year. Is there not another alternative to invasive surgery which will help with his pain.
many thanks claire

Answer
Treatment for Cervical Herniated disc.
I am glad you asked this question.
There is an alternative treatment and i use it every day with great success in my Manhattan Spinal decompression clinic.
It is called Non-surgical spinal decompression.
I would do your best to find a Chiropractor that utulizes this method, preferablly with the DRX 9000C.
I have had so many patients over the years come in seeking a non-surgical treatment and have had excellent results.
Surgery is not always the best option.
There definitely is a time and place for surgery, In my opinion once you have exhausted all of your non surgical options.
Not everyone is a candidate for spinal decompression either, Some patients are to far gone and need surgical intervention. It depends on many factors to determine if a patient is a candidate for spinal decompression.
I have posted on my website the indications and contraindications for spinal decompression.
