Question
Hello, I have a general arthritis question. Is there any truth in the statement that cracking your knuckles contributes to arthritis? I crack my knuckles and occasionally notice that my knuckle/finger joints ache in the morning. Any correlation? Thanks so much!

Answer
Dear Kelly,   Cracking of your knuckles could possibly lead to osteoarthritis or if you get a blood test done called RF and it is positive, then you could have the beginnings of rheumatoid arthritis....

Cracking knuckles damages the joints in the knuckles and can cause stiffness and inflammation....

thank you,   karen
