Hip Bruise

Question
A couple of years ago, I was working in my attic and made a misstep on a rafter.  I fell very hard onto the rafter, hitting and scraping the underside of my thigh, just below the buttocks and hip.  The bruise was deep and the site was sore for weeks.  Now, years later, I find that if I sit for any length of time, my hip and bone area around the site becomes sore.  Getting up and moving helps, but the discomfort returns when I sit.  Any idea what kind of damage I might have done to the bone?  Is there such a thing as a permanent "bone bruise"?  Thanks!

Answer
Dear Mark
You may have done some damage at the time of the accident and now for some reason there is a problem surfacing.  You may want to see an orthopedist so he or she can do appropriate testing to see if hip bone was compromised.

Good luck to you
