Question
Back in February, I suffered an isolated greater trochanter fracture on my right side from a five-foot fall. I was wondering how long I should wait before trying to drive again. The accident was February 15, 2014, and I am 44 years old. I did not require surgery.

Answer
Dear Julia,

This Orthopedic Chicago Podiatrist located in West Loop 60661,Roscoe Village 60618, Ukranian Village 60622, Elmhurst 60126 & Bartlett 60103 says...
For your greater trochanter fracture. If it as a hairline or chip fracture- around six weeks before you should be able to drive without pain. If the fracture is more complicated- two to four weeks longer. Smoking & increased weight will slow down healing times.
Hope this helps & Good Luck!
