Question
i am a 55yr old female. last may i broke my tib/fib and was out of work for 7 months. i am still going slow and limpimg along but am becoming stronger and the swelling diesn't get as bad now. that is just a little history. this is my question: in this past year i have occasionally felt a click in my knee cap. whenever i walk i can feel and it is becoming a steady thing now. it doesn't hurt. it's just weird and i kon't like that feeling. do you know what it might be? thanks

Answer
Deborah,
You may have sustained damage to your knee when you got your fx. It is not uncommon for this type of thing to occur, we focus on what causes the most pain at first. Clicking in the knee may be due to a meniscus (meh-niss-cuss) tear, this is the cartilage part of your knee joint. Some will also have a giving away sensation or pain going up/down stairs. You may want to get a ortho eval and a MRI to tell for sure.
