Question
A patient with c5-c6 injury since 1999, is having spasms when urinating, what could be the problem? In July this year he had an attack and all the sensations were gone again, he couldn't feel anything. The sensations came back after two months. What could have happened?

Answer
Dear Mercy,

I am no a doctor, but I'll give you my thoughts and advice. Is the patient a quadriplegic? If so spasms when urinating can be caused by any type of irritation; from bladder stones to bladder infections.

As for the lose of sensations, my guess would be some type of pressure on the spinal cord. But like I stated previously I am not a doctor. My suggestion is that you see a neurologist ASAP!

I hope this helps, and please see a neurologist.

Sincerely,
      Ken
