sensory nerve damage of finger

Question
A neurologist has told me that I probably have sensory nerve damage, which causes pain and cold or hot feelings in my finger and sometimes in my whole hand.  He felt that because 6 mos have passed that the regeneration of the nerve is unlikely. Neither hot water or cold packs seem to give relief.   Six months ago I had severe pain in my neck, shoulder and rt arm and hand.  Now there is pain only in my rt finger and hand.  An MRI last May showed no real spinal disabilities. Is there anything I can do to improve this situation?
Laurel

Answer
Dear Laurel,

Both Damiana and Scullcap are healing to the nervous system.  When used over a period of time they have sometimes effected some repair for nerve damage.  You would probably find Valerian beneficial for pain.

If I may be of further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best Regards,
Karen
