Question
Hello. I have had shortness of breath for 2 weeks. Went to the dr., chest x-ray, bloodwork, all came back fine. She put me on albuterol & prednisone to help clear my lungs. Took spirometer test, was very low. Last night around 9 p.m. I was sitting on the couch and felt sudden upper right chest pain that radiates to my right, upper back/shoulder blade area. Pain was a 10 on a scale of 1-10. Husband rushed me to the ER. They did bloodwork, EKG, APG (?), chest x-rays. All were normal and sent me home. The pain has eased off some, but is still there. THe pain is ok when I am still, but when I move anything on my right side of my body the pain comes back. Any ideas on what this could be?

Answer
muscle spasm in the muscles between your ribs in the region

Sorry to hear of your difficulty.  I imagine it must be frightening, but be at ease.

See the article at http://www.somatics.com/breathng.htm (on breathing)

Find a clinical somatic educator for sessions (see link at bottom of the page).
