Hi,
I have to do a debate regarding quadraplegia.I just wanted to know that in which circumstances  is quadraplegia fatal.

Hi Viren,
Thanks so much for your question.

I normally don't answer homework/classroom questions because I feel the student needs to do more research than just asking someone.

But, in your case, I don't think you will get an adequate answer by doing any further research.

Quadriplegia is actually the loss of sensation and paralysis in all four limbs. Even though there are various causes of quadriplegia, it is most commonally associated with spinal cord injuries.

Mainly, it's the injuries in the cervical region of the spinal cord that result in quadriplegia [not all injuries in paralysis]. The cases where these injuries become fatal are usually at the C1-C3 level. The reason is massive bleeding around the cord, shock and affected breathing.

With the advances in knowledge, education and treatment, the number of fatalities has dropped significantly over the last 50 years.
