Question
I'm 30 years old and I got into a car accident.  When I got out of the car, I
could not feel my head, I felt numness, really bad headaches & I had pain
everywhere...  I had gone to the ER... and complicant about everything that I
was feeling they took an X-ray, ct scan.... I was so upset at the Doctor
because the only thing he did was just shout out loud that my results were
negetive meaning no fructure... and I should be sent home with motrin and
muscle relaxer... he didn't even bother asking me question it was just the
nurse... they think i was acting... Anyways! when my sister was driving home
it was the worth feeling ever... I told my sister to buy me a neck brace
because I couldn't carry my neck even though when i was asking the nurse if
I could take home their neck brace and they said no... that I don't need it...
as soon as I got home I took the motrin and still can't feel my head... my
head is swollen... when I woke up the next morning it was the worst pain ever
I was takin the motrin every hour... and that was not working... I couldn't get
up... I was in bed for 3 days... my face is swollen... to cut the story short I
after 2 wks later I had gone to a chiropractor... I told him something is wrong
with my neck that I need for him to message it or snap it... he had asked me
to get my x-rays and I said I don't have time for that.... because I don't want
to loose my job... I have two kids... he said I'll just do it for free... as soon as
he x-ray my neck... He saw the fracture... that I need to be rush in the
hospital right now... that if I get into a car accident on the way their that
something really bad could happened to me.

It's been exactly a year since the day... I had 4 screws put in my neck and still
up to now I don't feel the same... couldn't turn my neck like it was before... I
fell pressure of some kind.... what should I do? at this point?

Answer
Hi Marilyn,

Wow that is so horrible. Did you consider a law suit against the original doctor? I know that isn't going to fix you, but it may help you pay for future expenses relating to your injury. As for your neck, I would suggest you see a neurologist. They may be able to come up with a solution for your neck. I hope this helps you.  Sincerely, Ken
