Question
My daughter who is now 10, and with downs, had a very hard fall on concrete floor.  She had C1 & C2 fusion as well as spinal cord inj.  Also caused her to go into cardiac arrest.  She is doing well...but not left without complications that were NOT there before her accident.  She seems to tire and weaken easily..in short has a hard time sustaining.  This has also caused her seizures.  Is it normal for her to be feeling this way.  When she is walking, she has tenancy to fall and trip when tired.  Thank you so much....

Answer
Dear Diane,

First I would like to tell you how sorry I am for your daughters injury which seems to be causing her more problems. I would think that type of injury could surely be the cause of your daughters problems. The spinal cord is a very sensitive area. If you haven't seen a neurologist I would suggest you do, they can give you a better idea of what may be happening. I wish I could tell you more. I will keep good thoughts for your daughter.

Sincerely,
       Ken
