Question
WOW if you could answer a question for me i would greatly appriciate it .

I was in pain for 2 years , and finally went to the hospital when my hand went numb , MRI showed severe cord compression at c5 - c7 had emergent surgery that night ,

I felt ok at 3 month after the surgery then i went back to normal activity , working, surfing , the doc said no restrictions ,
after a day of surfing i hit a brick wall , I started to feel more pain and tingles down my arm. and i went back to the hospital , the second MRI showed a white spot behind the surgery ..

Question is i am 6 month post opp , What does this white spot mean? what are signal changes ?  I do feel lucky because i know it could be a lot worse

I have hand tremors and sensitive reflexes now , Can the spinal cord heal after a major compression that was there for over 2 years ? I am fully fused and the doc said the white spot is permanent damage ....

Can the spinal cord and nerves heal themselves

thanks in advance
Marcus

Answer
hi Marcus, The answer to your question is it depends on how much damage has occurred and how severely the cord has been damaged. And that isn't something I can answer. I will pray for you and that things improve. No one should have to go through what your dealing with. Technology is getting closer to figuring out how to heal the spinal cord. Hopefully they figure that out sooner than later.

Sincerely, Ken
