Question
Around 3 years ago i went into hospital as i got a strange tingling senstation in my body, particually down my left side and in my hands and feet. I had all the tests, scans, lumbar puncture, electriacal never tests etc. and they found nothing. I didnt return to work for 9 months but after this the symptoms stayed, but i had just become accostomed to the tingling, my mobility in left side improved. however in the last 9 months it has got a lot worse and now in my knees quite badly. my hands go very stiff at times and lock. the pain in my knees can be unbearable at times and hard to move. changes in the weather effect it a lot.

I cycle which seems to help, but i have to where protective layers etc to stop the chill getting to me

I have had weeks where i havent cycled and it was actually worse

i am currently having the tests re done but feel like its going nowhere. i just dont want to end up back in hospital

Answer
Hi, Andy,

It's possible that your spinal muscular is so contracted that you've got nerve impingements.

A clue is the effect of cold weather:  shivering makes muscles tighter, so muscle tightness seems to be involved.

Somatic training alleviates excessive muscular tension and nerve impingements.  There's an article on idiopathic pain at somatics.com/page4.htm you may read.

If you would like a more in-depth consultation, please see somatics.com/page7.htm.
