Question
I was burnt at the age of 15 months .  Got 3rd degree burns.  Was told never to walk or wear shoes.  But I am walking and wearing shoes.  I am 37 now and am having problems with walking and wearing shoes and pain while walking.  What can I do?  And who should I go see to get this taken care of?  I work on my feet 8 hours or more a day and the throbbing pain kills me.

Thanks for your question. I thought I had answered this a couple days ago, but apparently it did not go through, I may have skipped a step somewhere. My apologies for the delay, I always try to answer within 24 hours.

Burn pain is not an area I've had a lot of experience with. I'm assuming there is some residual nerve damage that is causing the pain, but that may not be the case. I'd suggest you contact a medical center with a burn program and see if they can provide a referral to someone.

I wouldn't want to speculate beyond that; you have a very specialized situation.

Best wishes.
