Help with my medications

Question
Hello.  My name is Susan.  I have been unemployed for several months.  I have Lupus.  I am on several medications that I cannot afford.  I feel like I am dieing slowly because I am not taking the medications that I should be.  My joints ache like you wouldn抰 believe.  The simple task of even getting out of bed is very difficult and very painful.  Is there any company that can or will pay for my medications being that I am unemployed?  My church doesn抰 have a benevolence fund so they can抰 help me.  My family and friends are helping me pay for my rent, power and other bills but they cannot afford to help me with my medications.  They are very expensive.  I went to the library and went on their computers to find a company or group online that will help me with my medications but I couldn抰 find one.

Do you know of any?

I know that my concerns are not related to your topic or expertise.  But I am sending this question in hopes that maybe you抎 be able to help me find some help.

Thank you very much.

I hope you have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Susan

Answer
Susan,

I have seen advertisements on television for either Squibb or Pfizer to help with medication payments. Do you receive Social Security or Medicare? Those may be further avenues for you. As far as employment have you contacted your local VESID office. They find jobs for people with disabilities with employers who can accommodate. If you can't work I work assume you would be eligible for disability.

Hope this helps.

John
