Question
I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and my doctor suspects I have cushing's disease. My muscles ache continuously as a product of too much cortisol, I often have leg cramps and sleep poorly.

Would chiropractic care benefit me?

Answer
Sarah,

Thanks for the question and I am very sorry that you are having to deal with this problem.  Yes, I think that chiropractic could help you with your soreness and pain, but it would likely be palliative only.  Because this is a hormonal problem and dysfunction of the thyroid, you will have to treat it with hormone and medication therapy.

I do feel that chiropractic may be a good adjunct and help to provide relief from pain and muscle soreness, even if it is temporary.

I hope this helps and God Bless,

Dr. Boss
