Though the man has cured me, but it was not to be. Visited him yesterday again, but no join still feeling miserable today. so back to taking the pills again. Some of you say hot water bottle works some say ice, what do you think hot or cold any one with any other suggestion please email me. Cheers Sadie

Answer
Hello Sadie,

You may want to have a chiropractic exam on the neck and TMJ to determine which is the source of the pain, then a proper treatment plan can be established.  The general rule for ice is: New injury or acute trauma, anytime there is swelling, sharp pain.  Heat will bring more fluid into the joint or area of injury, this may increase the pain of a acute injury.

Have a great day!
