Question
I am looking at buying a new recliner chair and am wondering what I need to look for as far as my shoulders and neck.... the one I have now, after sitting for longer than 15-20 minutes, my shoulders (blade area) really ache when I get up... do I need firm, soft, plush, etc? Before spending $400 to $800 on one  I would like to know if there is something to look for in one.

thanks

Answer
Don't be afraid to bring a book and hang out at the store as long as you want. It depends on whether you spend more time sitting or reclining.
My general advice is: get something that forms to the natural curve of the back. So, a little support in the low back area; straighter or curved back towards the upper-mid back; and a SMALL SMALL SMALL pillow area. You want support, but you don't want some big pillow forcing your head forward. Remember, you can always add more pillows or folded blankets to give more support, but taking away an overabundance of support is impossible.
The surefire way of ensuring a great fit is to take a test drive.

Good luck!
